Summer box office season opened big with one movie setting a record for the biggest launch in movie history – X2: X-Men United.Lizzie McGuires’ Indentity will only lead to Anger Mangement, because of all the Holes. Summer sequel mania has begunX2: X-Men United decimated all others over the weekend bringing in an estimated 85.85 million. Of course we knew that X-Men would have a follow up after the first film had an opening weekend of 54.5 million. Nearly the entire cast of Mutants from X-Men returned in X2 to resume their roles with a few additions, which could be part of the reason for the success of the movie. Two of my favorites from the comic books that are appearing in X2 are Nightcrawler and Colossus. The Lizzie McGuire Movie opened in second place taking in just over 17 million with Identity dropping to third spot in its second week.
