The thriller that made Sharon Stone the sex symbol of the 90s is heading back to theatres with an all-new 4K restoration!
Studiocanal requested the restoration of the full-length version of the film (not the North America release) from the original 35mm negative. Paul Verhoeven, the director, supervised the project and Rialto Pictures will handle the distribution in the US.
The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Steelbook editions will be released in the UK (June 14th), Germany (June 17th), Australia (July 7) and New Zealand (July 14th).
In addition, a new documentary “Basic Instinct, Sex, Death & Stone”, which aired on French TV in December 2020, will be sold globally to broadcasters.
