4K UltraHD Middle-Earth Ultimate Collector’s Edition Details

31-disc set. Let that sink in a for moment… 31-disc set. Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit Trilogy are once again coming to 4K UltraHD Blu-ray in a 31-DISC SET. Ok, I might be over it now. What do you get in this 31-disc set? Well, all six films will come in their theatrical and extended versions. They have been remastered fro the original 4K master.

So, on October 26th, when you pick up this Ultimate Collector’s edition in it’s unique “puzzle box” collectible packing including a 64-page booklet feature costumes, photography and production notes from the film, art cards featuring travel posters and images from iconic locations through Middle-Earth. You know those fancy places called The Shire, Lake-Town, Ererbor, Anduin, Rhona, Minas Trith and Rivendell.

As far as extras… the Ultimate Collector’s edition is coming with the Cannes Film Festival presentation reel and footage from the Alamo Drafthouse cast reunion which featured Peter Jackson, Sean Astin, Cate Blachette, Orlando Bloom, Billy Boyd, Ian McKellan, Dominic Monaghan, Viggo Mortenson, Andy Serkis, Liv Tyler and Elijah Wood.

What are the tech specs on this bad boy… do you really need to know anything beyond… Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Didn’t think so.
