Well here is a surprise… okay not really. I expected Disney to do this with a few of the Fox titles after the purchased the company. Home Alone is getting a relaunch with a newly titled Disney+ movie called Home Sweet Home Alone. The new movie will stream on November 12th, exclusively on the streaming service.
Archie Yates (JoJo Rabbit) is playing the left behind kid – Max Mercer. Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell are all part of the cast. The film is being directed by Dan Mazer (Dirty Grandpa)
The story:
Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensue, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home.

Are you ready you filthy animals? I’m excited to see what role the original Buzz (Devin Ratray) has to play this time around.
