I must have been living under a rock as I just learned about the Snake Eyes origin movie. Paramount Pictures is expanding while simultaneously re-launching the Joe universe which started with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and its sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

The film stars Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) as the titular character Snake Eyes. Joining him is Andrew Koji (Storm Shadow), Iko Uwais (Hard Master), Úrsula Corberó (Baroness) and Samara Weaving (Scarlett). The film is being directed by Robert Schewntke and will explore how Snake Eyes became the quiet G.I. Joe figure he is. You’ll only have to wait until July 23rd to check out the action.
