Super busy Idris Elba dropped a tweet to announce that he will voice Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Knuckles first appeared in 1994 in the Sega Genesis game Sonic the Hedgehog 3. He’s a short-beaked echidna, a serious, but gullible character who opposes Sonic after being tricked by Doctor Eggman (Jim Carrey). Yes, Jim is back and I cannot wait!
James Fowler is returning to direct the sequel with Ben Schwartz once again voicing Sonic, James Mardeson and Tika Sumpter are also returning.
We still have several months before we see this film and I’m looking forward to the first trailer. The planned release date is April 08, 2022.
