Star Trek 4 has had no easy journey thus far and while that early version Quentin Tarantino was interested in is off the table, Paramount has now ironed out a path for the franchise and forges ahead with Matt Shakman as the director and J.J, Abrams being on board, as well. Original cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldaña and others are said to return to reprise their roles from the 2016 film Star Trek Beyond. Unfortunately, one member will not be returning and that is Anton Yelchin who passed away in 2016.
That’s right! It’s been a while, let’s just hope that none of that time travelling nonsense of the first draft version is now happening and with Josh Friedman (Snowpiercer) and Cameron Squires (WandaVision) adapting that early draft, I wager we will be in for a treat come Christmas 2023. Scotty… beam me up!
