Rachel Zegler’s big break hasn’t even been released yet and she’s set to star in Disney’s live action remake of Snow White according to Deadline. No official release date has been announced for the Snow White as of yet.
Zegler’s first, shall we say, break-out role is as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical isn’t due out until December, but apparently it was footage from her role as Maria that pushed Disney decision makers over the line.
Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) is set to direct the film based on Disney’s first feature length cartoon from 1938, which is based on a Brothers Grimm fairytale.
“Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts,” Webb said. “Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale.”
Rachel Zegler is also set to join Zachary Levi in Shazam! Fury of the Gods in 2023.
