Elf Moves Up

Looks like the Elf is the “Master and Commander” of the Matrix. Brother Bear as he’s known to his friends was “Back In Action” and acting all Looney over some Tunes. Being its second week at the box office and opening last weekend against the third Matrix didn’t stop the comedy Elf, starring funny man Will Farrell from making its way to top. Taking in just a shade less was Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, which stars Russell Crowe. The film opened in the second spot. The Matrix Revolutions didn’t keep up the expected momentum falling to third spot in its second weekend. Disney’s latest animated film Brother Bear is still doing well at the box office by taking fourth place over newcomer Looney Tunes: Back In Action. The only other newcomer to grace the top ten was Tupac: Resurrection in ninth.1. Elf (27.24m)2. Master And Commander: The Far Side of the World (25.73m)3. The Matrix Revolutions (16.32m)4. Brother Bear (12.02m)5. Looney Tunes: Back In Action (9.51m)6. Love Actually (8.88m)7. Scary Movie 3 (6.11m)8. Radio (5.00m)9. Tupac: Resurrection (4.66m)10. Mystic River (3.33m)
