Hyped Up!TM is back – BABY! Yaaaah! We are reviving Hyped Up!TM from its long dormant form. We’re going to have a look at the big releases left this month over the next week. So, without any further ado here we go… Tomorrow marks the biggest release yet in the DVD industry with the long awaited Star Wars Trilogy hitting the market. The bad news is that it’s the new Special Special Editions and not the originals released in 1977, 1980 and 1983. Although I wouldn’t be surprised of Georgie boy releases them on HD-DVD in near the future. He may say they don’t exist to him anymore, but he knows well enough that if he doesn’t release his new editions first they won’t have nearly the same sales with the OT available.Anyhow, back to the matter hand. September 21 marks a great day for all of us who have been waiting and waiting and wanting to get this set in our hands, altered or not. Unfortunately, we were not one of the websites selected for early review by Lucas Films Inc., but we can tell you from word on the street web is that the Star Wars Trilogy kicks some major booty. I’m sure you all know what will be on this DVD, but if you don’t have a gander at our original article for the specs for the Star Wars Trilogy. The other honorable mention for this week is for Mean Girls coming from Paramount Home Entertainment. As the majority of you are aware is that this movie stars Lindsay Lohan. I haven’t seen the film so I can’t chime in at all on this, but it’s at least worth a mention since her last couple of films have been pretty decent.
A Word from Jonathon Ghetto Fabulous J. Wicked here. Now playahs no doubt my man Papa S. Love and the more so-phistocated among us are Hyped about the release of American Pimp: Raw Outtakes and the Hard Truth Edition with Official CD Soundtrack. The original pimpumentary by the Hughes Brothers has so much bling and pimpified love that it had to be expanded into a whole new movie. Included is my man Snoop Dogg, and looks at Bishop Don “Magic” Jaun, Too $hort and C-Note. Snoop Dogg appears high as a kite when he gives an interview that was too hot to go in the first release. Break out your ice encrusted pimp cup, and grab your marble engraved pimpstick, ‘cause this release is gonna be hot – or at least worth a peek. For the giggle worm in all of us, get ready for the release of Mad TV: Season One. Not only is this show funnier then Saturday Night Live has ever been, but it also brings the awesome Spy VS Spy comic series to life. In the early episodes we get some of the best of both Orlando Jones and Phil Lamar. Can you believe this show hit the air in 1995?Head on over to the forums now to discuss them. Keep in mind you don’t have to be a registered member of the forum to post in the Hyped Up! (TM) section.
