Swashbucklers and cursed pirates ruled the weekend.A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen just couldn’t seem to take em, however they were able to hold off Judgement Day.A Box Office Report by….. ME It was no surprise to me to see Pirates Of Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl as this weekends top movie. It’s been sometime since a good pirate movie has hit the big screen, and especially one that looked so appealing in the trailers. The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen opened in second doing about half the business of Pirates, but made enough to fend off cybernetic life forms. Terminator 3: Rise Of Machines slipped to third this weekend, while Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde fell to fourth. Rounding out the top five is Pixar and Disney’s latest Finding Nemo, which is well on its way to be the number one grossing animated movie thus bumping THE LION KING from it’s roust.1.
