Yes, ladies and gentlemen it. It look as though all the rumors are true. September 21st will see the release of the ultimate original Sci-Fi trilogy… STAR WARS. The official press release has not hit the streets yet, but according to various websites LucasFilm & Fox Home Video have confirmed the street date in September. It will be a four-disc set, same as last years The Adventures of Indiana Jones. The box set will be available in Widescreen and Foolscreen, and will include all three Special Editions of each movie, Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and fourth disc of extras. The fourth disc will have the most comprehensive feature-length documentary ever produced about the Star Wars saga and never-before-seen footage from the making of all three films. Each film has been digitally restored (again) and THX re-mastered for.. blah, blah, blah.. live we haven’t heard this before.Jim Ward the Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for Lucasfilm Ltd. and the DVD collection’s Executive Producer had this to say – “We know how long fans have waited for this release and how much they have been looking forward to it, so everyone has been working overtime to make sure that the STAR WARS TRILOGY on DVD is an awesome experience.” Hopefully Lucas will change his mind about releasing the unaltered versions of the Original Trilogy, which most fans would like to add to their collection.Stay tuned for more info – until then Live long and prosper… err I mean… MAY THE SCHWARTZ BE WITH YOU!… FORCE… MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
