Finally, news comes down the wire as to when we can expect to see Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers on DVD.Like we haven’t all been waiting for this news. Plus we have the DVD Cover Art for the each of the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers DVD editions being released. August 26th is when you can expect to see the 2-disc Special Edition in both full screen and Anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) on store shelves. The audio tracks for the 179-minute film will feature Dolby Digital 5.1 EX.Want to know what this 2-disc edition will have for features??There will be:- 2 in-depth documentaries (On the Set – The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Return to Middle Earth)- Sean Astin’s The Long and the Short of It short film- The Making of The Long and the Short of It featurette- 8 production featurettes (Forces of Darkness, Designing the Sounds of Middle-earth, Edoras: The Rohan Capital, Creatures of Middle-earth, Gandalf the White, Arms and Armor, The Battle of Helm’s Deep and Bringing Gollum to Life)- Exclusive 10-minute preview of The Return of the King- Original Theatrical Trailers and TV spots- Golllum’s Song music video by Emiliana Torrini- Preview of Electronic Arts’ Return of the King video game- Preview of the Two Towers: Special Extended DVD Version. There you have it, somewhere around 2 hours of bonus materials.The 4-disc Special Extended DVD will follow on November 18th. It’s currently in production, so we are unable at this time to nail down any specs. I suspect, however, that it will be similar to the Extended Edition of The Fellowship of the Ring. so specific features and specs will be announced at a later date. That also means you can expect that no content will be duplicated between the TTT: SE and the TTT: XE.You can most likely expect an extra 30-40 minutes added to the film just like its predecessor.Pre-orders begin May 9th.
