According to Hollywood Reporter Jason Momoa is in final negotiations to star in Warner Bros. live-action Minecraft movie with Jared Hess as director.
I will be curious how this one will turn out, tempering my expectations, as I have seen some episodes of the “Minecraft: Story Mode” TV series on Netflix and did not much care for it… it being mediocre at best. On the other hand, movies based on games have done rather well recently. So there’s hope for this one, yet.
Mary Parent and Roy Lee (Dune) will produce and Jill Messick who passed away in 2018 will receive a posthumous producing credit for developing the film.
