“DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER” And “TIGERS ON THE RISE”

  • Directed By Mark Linfield
  • Co-Directed By Vanessa Berlowitz, Rob Sullivan
  • Produced By Mark Linfield, Vanessa Berlowitz, Roy Conli
  • Narrated By Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Disneynature is an independent film studio specializing in producing nature documentary films for Walt Disney Studios, a division of Disney Entertainment, which The Walt Disney Company owns. The production company was founded on April 21, 2008, and is headquartered in Paris, France

Priyanka Chopra Jonas narrates Disneynature’s “Tiger”. Follow alongside Ambar, a young tigress raising her cubs in the fabled forests of India. The cubs are curious, energetic and awkward. They must learn from their mother the dangers that nature beholds. DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER is directed by Mark Linfield, co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz and Rob Sullivan, and produced by Linfield. Berlowitz and Roy Conli, “Tiger” is the groundbreaking culmination of 1,500 days of filming.

DISNEYNATURE’S TIGERS is an in-depth look at the lives of India’s wild big cats. It follows a mother “Amber” and her cubs on an adventure of a lifetime. There are ups and downs (as with most things in life), but there’s never a boring moment.

Mark Linfield creates a world that the viewing audience is not privy to. Watch as Amber teaches and protects her cubs, while also helping them for life on their own. Linfield and crew use unintrusive techniques to film these adventures, even when danger is evident. Astonishing is the best way to describe the ride that DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER takes the audience on. This is the best way to educate people on the majestic creatures.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is an exceptional narrator and often elevates the story. Her narration blends into the action on screen and gives TIGER that Disney feel. There are a few mature elements to TIGER that families should prepare for, but Disney handles these with great humanity.

DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER is a documentary, but feels like a story that families will connect with. Female Tigers love their cubs and do all they can to protect them. Learn, love and live with Amber and her cubs on a journey in the jungles of India. Come along and watch how these animals survive and flourish in the wild from the ease of your couch. This is one adventure that should not be missed.

DISNEYNATURE’S TIGERS ON THE RISE

Narrated by: Blair Underwood
Directed by: Rob Sullivan
Co-directed by: Alistair Tones
Produced by: Rob Sullivan, Vanessa Berlowitz, Mark Linfield, Roy Conli
Narrated by Blair Underwood, Disneynature’s “Tigers on the Rise” celebrates the remarkable comeback of one of the world’s most iconic animals. Tiger populations have rebounded so successfully, that many of the big cats are venturing from India’s forest reserves into farms and villages—a monumental challenge for both people and animals. The heroes in this story are the vets, scientists and community patrols dedicated to ensuring that tigers and people can coexist.

Actor Blair Underwood (Deep Impact, Just Cause) lends his voice to the narration of DISNEYNATURE’S TIGERS ON THE RISE. This documentary is a behind-the-scenes look at the shooting of DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER. Make no mistake though, this one is filled with more of the human element in preserving India’s Tigers. It allows viewers to see all the preparation and time spent filming for DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER.

This is the more informative of both documentaries, as it shows all the active people in India involved with preserving these awe-inspiring creatures. It also shows how the crew got the amazing footage and how the Tigers interacted minimally with the crew on the ground. See what happens when animals deal with an ever-dwindling habitat and are forced to adapt. Watch as the efforts of Tigers and humans live amongst each other and how the big cats flourish.

Disneynature shows both sides of the coin with both documentaries. One is more story-driven (Disneynature Tiger) and one is more factual (Disneynature’s Tigers on the Rise), both equally entertaining.

This is a welcomed collection to the Disneynature collection and will delight the young and old. These are the perfect things to view on the upcoming Earth Day.

DISNEYNATURE’S TIGER & DISNEYNATURE’S TIGERS ON THE RISE will stream April 22 (Earth Day) , exclusively on Disney+
