A new trailer showcasing Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s upcoming 4K UHD release of Willy Wonky and the Chocolate Factory has shown up via WB’s YouTube page.
To celebrate 50-years of the classic film it is being released for the first time on 4K UHD media on June 29th. It will be available with standard packaging at most retailers and a Steelbook version will be available at both Best Buy and Zavvi.
WB has taken a new 4K scan of the original negative. It will be presented in HDR10 with DTS-HD master audio. The blu-ray special features will carry over. This includes the Commentary with the Wonka Kids, Pure Imagination: The Story of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory featurette, The Moviemakers featurette, Sing-Alongs (Pure Imagination, I Want It Now!, I’ve Got a Golden Ticket, and Oompa-Loompa-Doompa-De-Do), and finally the films theatrical trailer.
