Jackie Earle Haley who recently played Rorschach in Watchmen is set to dawn a famous fedora, a tattered sweater, and some claws. No, he’s not playing a cross between Indiana Jones, Wil Wheaton, and Wolverine. He’s been cast as the new Freddy Krueger in New Line Cinema’s reboot of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
While Latino Review first announced his casting back in February it has now been signed, sealed and confirmed. The reboot will see Wes Craven’s horror character reborn again on the big screen. The movie will be directed by Samuel Bayer.
It’s been 25-years since the clawed nightmare killer made his debut and put New Line on the map and spawned a several of sequels.
