Ron Perlman is joining the Transformers franchise as the voice of Optimus Primal in the upcoming live action film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Just to clarify Perlman is NOT voice Optimus Prime.
It’s unknown if the story will closely mirror that of the cartoon series Transformers: Beast Wars, but for those that don’t know, Optimus Primal is the leader of the Maximals. A mere captain of an exploration ship when he his crew were diverted to chase down a stolen Predacon ship with Megatron onboard. Not the same Megatron from Transformers, but his namesake… just like Optimus Primal, who once saved Optimus Prime.
This is starting to give me a headache… kidding, but they end up traveling through time and end up on a primal planet where they take the forms of the beasts that reside there.
Ron Perlman will be joining Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in the Steve Caple Jr. directed film based on the popular Hasbro toys. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will hit theatres June 24th, 2022.
