Two More Join ‘Jonah Hex’

Another DC property is making it’s way to the big screen. It’s Jonah Hex, and it’s adding some big names to the mix. Jimmy Hayward is set to direct and Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox already on board for the comic book adaption. And two more have been added…
Jonah HexThe Hollywood Reporter has news that Will Arnett and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon will also be boarding ‘Hex’. Here’s what THR has to say:

“…a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who wants to raise an army of the undead to liberate the South.

Arnett will play a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies. The role is not inherently comic.

Shannon plays Doc Cross Williams, the bizarre ringleader of a brutal gladiator circus event. The character might appear in sequels.”

From Wikipedia: Jonah Hex is a a Western comic book anti-hero. The right side of his face is horribly scarred. He was an officer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, fought at Gettysburg and is normally shown wearing a tattered Confederate States Army jacket. Hex is surly and cynical, and is in many ways similar to Clint Eastwood’s Man with No Name or The Outlaw Josey Wales.
