I guess I should really crawl out from the rock I’ve been hiding under because I just learned that Warner Bros is remaking Clash of the Titans. If you didn’t know either welcome to the club.
Louis Letterier (The Incredible Hulk) will be directing the film with Terminator Salvation star Sam Worthington taking on the lead role of Perseus. Former Bond girl Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) was announced earlier this week and just today Rope of Silicon announced the addition of Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) and Alexa Davalos (Chronicles of Riddick).

[The story] follows Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay wrote the script
Mikkelsen is playing Draco, a skilled fighter and leader of the Praetorian Guard that accompanies Perseus. Davalos is Andromeda, the captured princess, and Arterton is Io, who is instrumental in bringing the winged horse Pegasus to Perseus.
I still remember stop motion Medusa from the 1981 movie and how creepy she was. I enjoyed this movie back in the day and with today’s technology it should look phenomenal, but can it capture the same feel the original had.
Warner Bros. has set March 26, 2010 as the films release date.
